Full Payment

Full payment is required sixty (60) days prior to arrival date (the amount is not inclusive of any bank charges). Should we not receive the balance by the due date, we reserve the right to cancel the booking and cancellation charges may apply.

Refundable Security Deposit

A MYR 450 security deposit is required at the time of full payment. This will be refunded upon your departure provided there are no damages to the property or its contents.

Payment Instruction

We accept a number of different means of payment – please choose the one that’s best for you.

  1. Sending a Payment by SWIFT – International Electronic Bank Transfer
    You can send a SWIFT payment / transfer to our account based in Sabah, Malaysia. Please note all bank charges for payments to Hibiscus Beach Retreat must be borne by the customer. You will need to send an equivalent amount that, when it is credited to our account, is the same as the invoiced amount (in RM, Malaysian Ringgits).

    When you send a bank transfer to us we need you to do the following:
    Put your surname and invoice number in the reference field in order for us to process the payment. Please confirm by email when you have sent a payment (deposit or full payment) to us. Email us with your surname, invoice number and total amount paid. If you get a payment completion reference number then please include it.

  2. Sending Bank Transfer from a Malaysian Bank Account
    For those with a Bank Account with a Malaysian Bank you can choose to send online bank transfer to our HSBC Account.

  3. Paying by Credit Card via PayPal – Variable Fees
    You can also send payment to us via PayPal (to info@hibiscusbeachretreat.com). You just need to be aware that the charge levied by PayPal can range between 3% – 5% and you will need to add this on to the payment you send.

  4. For Late Bookings (0-5 days before check in)
    For late bookings, or bookings whilst you are already on holiday, you can bank in cash to either of our accounts above. Just go to an HSBC ATM and make a cash deposit.

Currency Conversions

For currency conversions you may use the exchange rates on XE.com Universal Currency Converter as an indication. Please note the exchange rates used by each Bank can differ to those on xe.com – this is primarily due to the commission banks build in to their exchange rates. If, after foreign currency conversions, you overpay then we will arrange to refund you the difference once you are in Sabah. If, after foreign currency conversions, you underpay then we will arrange for you to pay the difference in the simplest way possible once you are in Sabah.

Reservation Form

Upon making a reservation, we will send you a Reservation Form for you to complete. This contains our bank account details.


Written notice via email must be given for any cancellation or early departures. Charges for cancellations within the following notice periods are as follows:

  • 60 days or more prior to arrival date – 50% of deposit paid

  • 59 days or less days prior to arrival date – 100% of total charges

If we can fill the time you have reserved, your deposit will be refunded. No show or early departures will be charged for the full duration as originally reserved. We strongly recommend guests purchase a travel insurance policy covering refunds of cancellation charges.

Personal Liability and Insurance

Hibiscus Beach Retreat’s owners, employees and agents cannot accept liability for any loss, expense, damage, claim or injury to property or persons during your stay at Hibiscus Beach Retreat or on its grounds. Please ensure you are adequately insured before you leave home.
